Easter egg hunts around central Indiana

(WISH) — Looking for some Easter fun this weekend? Here’s our list of Easter egg hunts and other Easter-themed events around central Indiana. 

All events are scheduled for Saturday, April 20, unless otherwise noted. 

Indianapolis

  • April 18: Head to Garfield Park Burrello Center from 10-11 a.m. for an Easter-themed Fun Factory craft, story and playtime for kids under 7 years old.
  • Easter weekend at the Indianapolis Zoo includes large zoo-themed eggs. Write down locations for at least 10 of the hidden eggs and show it at the White River Gardens Gift Shop for a special prize.
  • A citywide Easter egg hunt starts at 9 a.m. at Washington Park, 3130 E. 30th St. 
  • The whole Indianapolis Cultural Trail is up for grabs as part of a sprawling egg hunt that starts at 10 a.m. The hunt has three different starting points and is free; you’re just asked to register. 
  • The egg hunt at Indy Island adds a twist: It’s underwater. Starting at 10 a.m., kids accompanied in the water by an adult can search the pool for eggs. The egg hunt costs $5, along with a $3 fee for pool admission. Get tickets here. 
  • Starting at 10 a.m., admission to the Indiana State Museum includes a visit from the Easter Bunny and a chance to spot 92 eggs left in the museum or make your own Easter basket.
  • Bishop Chatard High School, 5885 Crittenden Avenue, is inviting “future Trojans” to collect eggs on the school’s front lawn and enjoy games, crafts, live animals and a visit from the Easter Bunny in the gymnasium. Parking and registration information is here. 
  • St. Vincent dePaul’s Easter 5K starts at 10 a.m. and includes a run/walk, a kids’ run, an adult egg hunt and free beer or soda. Click here to register. 
  • The Hop to the Prop Easter egg hunt for kids 10 and under starts at 11 a.m. at the Indianapolis Propylaeum, 1410 N. Delaware St. 
  • An Easter celebration starting at 11 a.m. at Riverside Park, with crafts, games, candy and maybe a visit from the Easter Bunny. For kids ages 2-12.
  • At noon, enjoy the Indiana Institute for Behavior Analysis’ annual Autism Awareness Block Party, 8650 Commerce Park Place, Ste. A, which will include bounce houses, face painting, informational sessions and an egg hunt with 2,500 eggs. 
  • April 21: Kids ages 2-14 can participate in an Easter egg hunt at Victory Field starting at 11:45 a.m. And kids under 14 eat free at Sunday’s Indianapolis Indians game. 

Lawrence 

  • Lawrence United Methodist Church, 5200 Shadeland Ave., invites kids ages 1-10 to enjoy an egg hunt. Check-in starts at 1:30 p.m. for the 2 p.m. hunt. A quiet hunt and a balloon hunt will be available for kids with special needs.

Speedway

  • It’s a different kind of race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as kids 12 and under search for Easter eggs. Games and registration kick off at 9 a.m.; the event is free with a donation of a pet supply for IndyHumane. See the list of needed supplies here. 

BOONE COUNTY

Lebanon

  • Head to Memorial Park, 130 E. Ulen Dr., at 10:30 a.m. for a free egg hunt, with prizes in hunts for three different age groups. Visit the Easter Bunny at Herr Cabin. 

Zionsville

  • The Eggnormous Egg Hunt starts with food, face painting and photos with the Easter Bunny at 9 a.m., followed by games at 9:30 a.m. and an egg hunt at 10:30 a.m., all held at Lions Park, 115 S. Elm St. 

Whitestown

  • Thousands of candy-stuffed eggs will be up for grabs at the Whitestown Municipal Complex, 6210 Veterans Dr. The hunt starts at 10 a.m., including a special egg hunt for kids with allergies. There’s also free brunch with the Easter Bunny for kids — for adults, a $5 donation for brunch is suggested. 

HAMILTON COUNTY

Carmel

  • Check-in for the Hide & Peep Egg Hunt at Clay Terrace begins at 9 a.m. Face painting, balloon art and Easter Bunny photos accompany the 10 a.m. egg hunt, which will on the Clay Terrace Lawn behind Kona Grill and Mitchell’s Fish Market. Click here to register. 

Fishers

  • The Great Egg Hunt starts at 2 p.m. on the Festival Grounds at Conner Prairie, 13400 Allisonville Rd., for kids 2-12 years old. 

Noblesville

  • Noblesville Baptist Church is hosting a community Easter egg hunt at Arbuckle’s Railroad Place, 1151 Vine St. Games start at 10 a.m., hunt at 10:30 a.m.
  • White Rock Fellowship, 21070 Schulley Rd., is hosting an Easter egg hunt for kids 12 and under starting at 3 p.m.

Sheridan

  • Blackhawk Winery & Vineyard will host an Easter egg hunt for adults only, starting at 10 a.m. Tickets are $40, and the eggs can be traded in for a gift bag. Live music and entertainment will also be available. 

Westfield

  • Spots for the Easter Egg Drop filled in 19 minutes earlier this month. 

HENDRICKS COUNTY

Brownsburg

  • Starting at 10:30 a.m., kids up to 12 years old are invited to hunt for 10,000 Easter eggs at Hope Community Church, 3350 N. State Road 267.
  • The Well Community Church is hosting three Easter egg hunts, starting at 2 p.m. with an adaptive hunt using magnetic eggs with poles. At 3:30 p.m., a sensory-friendly, quiet hunt is designed to be good for kids with autism and sensory processing needs. And 5 p.m. is when a family egg hunt starts. Register here. 

Danville

  • Kiwanis Easter egg hunt at Danville Parks & Recreation, 49 N. Wayne St. Pictures with Easter Bunny start at 10 a.m.; hunts for kids 2-9 years old starts at 11 a.m.

North Salem

  • Naturalists at McCloud Nature Park, 8518 Hughes Rd., will hide camouflaged eggs with nature clues along two trails at the park. Start your search at 11 a.m. and use the clues to answer scavenger hunt questions and claim a prize. 

Plainfield

  • Let your furry friend celebrate! Photos with the Easter Bunny and eggs filled with special treats will be available starting at noon at Paw Street Bakery, 120 E. Main St.
  • The Easter EGGStravaganza starts at 12:15 p.m. with an egg hunt, food, face painting and other games start at Christ Church, 550 Saint Luke Drive. 
  • The Easter Eggstravaganza starts with photos with the Easter Bunny at 10 a.m., followed by an underwater egg hunt at the Richard A Carlucci Recreation and Aquatic Center, 651 Vestal Rd. 

JOHNSON COUNTY

Greenwood

  • April 17: From 5-7 p.m. at Greenwood Meadows, enjoy an Easter egg hunt, refreshments and prize raffles that benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. 
  • Starting at 10 a.m. at the Mount Pleasant Christian Church Community Life Center, 381 N. Bluff Road, enjoy a free egg hunt, bounce houses, prizes and snacks. 

MORGAN COUNTY

Mooresville

  • Pioneer Park Easter egg hunt. Easter Bunny arrives at 10:30 a.m., hunt starts at 11 a.m. Meet at the baseball diamonds. Children must be accompanied by an adult. 
  • Community Easter egg hunt starts at 10:30 a.m. for kids 1-year-old through sixth grade at Eternal Life Baptist Church, 8554 E. Hendricks County Rd.
