Investigators: Man killed girlfriend, told police she committed suicide

ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) — An Anderson man has been charged with murder after investigators alleged he murdered his girlfriends and told investigators she had killed herself.

Aaron Toller, 23, was arrested last week. His girlfriend, 33-year-old Lindsay Wilkins, was shot and killed in 1000 block of W. 1st St. in Anderson.

Investigators said that Toller called 911 in the early morning hours of Dec. 8 and said he found Wilkins deceased in her bed. Officers said there wasn’t a gun anywhere near the scene. Toller later changed his story and said he found a gun, then removed it from the home by throwing it into a field because he was on probation. Officers recovered a pistol that had red stains that may have been blood. Toller also pointed out an additional gun in the field.

Investigators also said that Toller and Wilkins had a fight earlier in the evening regarding his friendship with another woman.

Investigators also believed that the position that Wilkins was found in was not consistent with a person that had shot themselves.
