Remember when Wrestlemania VIII invaded the Hoosier Dome?

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — It’s Wrestlemania weekend and we’re diving into the archives for #FlashbackFriday.

While Wrestlemania 35 is set to take place Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, we’re looking back at when Hulk Hogan, “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Ric Flair invaded the Hoosier Dome for Wrestlemania VIII in 1992.

In the basement of WISH-TV, we found this news package from April 5, 1992. Reporter Letitia Miele and videographer John LeSage descended into the madness and the mania of Wrestlemania to deliver this story.

Tens of thousands of fans filled up the Hoosier Dome to see a double main event: Hulk Hogan vs. Sid Vicious and “Macho Man” Randy Savage vs. Ric Flair.

One-time Indiana resident Bobby “The Brain” Heenan was on commentary along with Gorilla Monsoon.
