Warrant issued for peeping tom in Franklin Township for unrelated case

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An arrest warrant has been issued for a man Indianapolis police believe was peering into homes in Franklin Township.

IMPD said Weston Gray is wanted for a different case from 2015. According to the probable cause affidavit, the warrant is for a 2015 break-in. The documents also say he is wanted for battery resulting in bodily injury.

In that 2015 case, Jamie Hogan tells us her son accidentally left the front door unlocked.

“We went to sleep and my son had come home late and left the door unlocked and then the next thing we know around 3:20 I heard my son yelling that there was someone in the house,” Jamie Hogan said.

She said he then went into her daughter’s room.

“I don’t know what his intention was… I just knew that there was a struggle and she was screaming,”Hogan said.

She said the man then struggled with her son before they chased him out of the house, but he was never found or identified.

Now, almost a year later Hogan said she saw that home surveillance video of a man peeping into a Franklin Township home and knew it was the same man that was in her house.

“I knew immediately it was the guy, so I got sick to my stomach and I got tears in my eyes,” Hogan added.

Police have not linked Gray to the recent peeping cases. However, a WISH-TV viewer posted a picture of a man on our Facebook page relating to a similar incident.

That video was taken by a doorbell video camera in the 10500 block of Pintail Lane.

The photo shows the man wearing a polo shirt and khaki pants and holding gloves.

Residents said a man described as wearing similar attire attempted to enter a home nearby, according to an IMPD report. Residents say this is not the first time there has been suspicious activity in the neighborhood. Police have not said if those incidents are related.

Hogan said she’s glad this incident may have led police to a suspect for her case.

“It’s very important. It’s going to be some closure,” Hogan said.

If you recognize the man, you’re asked to call IMPD at 317-327-3424.
