Warming up for the holiday weekend
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We pumped the brakes on the nice weather we’ve been experiencing the past couple of days for our Wednesday. Temperatures struggled to get into the mid 30s with breezy winds in place. We are tracking a warmup as we roll into the holiday weekend, but this will lead way for rain chances.
Wednesday night: Winds will calm down for our Wednesday night with mostly clear skies sticking around. Lows will fall into the low to mid 20s.
Thursday: We rebound back into the mid 40s for our Thursday. Breezy winds out of the south will set the stage for warmer air to kick in. Clouds will increase throughout the day.
Friday: The warming trend continues into our Friday for Christmas Eve as we track the return of rain. Scattered showers are possible late Friday. Highs will launch into the mid to upper 50s.
8-Day Forecast: Rain chances look to linger into Christmas Day with near record highs (Indy’s record high on Saturday is 64°). Temperatures will rise into the upper 50s for Saturday before a cooldown slides into the forecast. The only holiday travel impacts at this time are breezy winds for Thursday and Friday with the aforementioned rain. Additional rain chances are in place for Sunday and into the first half of next week.
