Woman injured when Jeep crashed into building

VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) – Police in northwestern Indiana said a woman was airlifted to a Chicago hospital after a Jeep crashed into a medical building, trapping her beneath the vehicle for about an hour.

Valparaiso police spokesman Sgt. Mike Grennes said he didn’t know the condition of the woman injured Friday morning when the vehicle crashed into the offices of Orthopedic & Balance Therapy Specialists.

He said it took emergency crews nearly an hour to extricate the woman from beneath the vehicle in the city about 25 miles southeast of Gary.

Grennes said the man who was driving the Jeep is expected to face charges.

Devon Bronson works at a nearby restaurant. He told The (Munster) Times he saw the Jeep moving at a “good speed” before the crash.
