Chicago-based firm to expand operations in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – A Chicago-based company announced plans to invest $2.9 million in an expansion of its operations in downtown Indianapolis.

Geofeedia, Inc., a location-based social media monitoring platform, says it will create up to 336 new jobs by 2020.

The company says it wants to develop a 9,200 square-foot facility into its largest corporate office, where employees will focus on developing predictive software technology used by consumer brands, media organizations and public safety agencies.

Geofeedia could receive up to $4.4 million in conditional tax credits based on its job creation plans from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.

Geofeedia currently employs 44 full-time workers between its offices in Indianapolis, Chicago and Naples, Florida.

The company said it has 20 employees in Indiana.
