Purdue announces 980 acre aerospace facility

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) – Purdue University officials announced Tuesday the creation of a 980 acre aerospace research facility.

President Mitch Daniels say the Purdue Research Park Aerospace District will provide jobs for residents and learning opportunities for Purdue students.

The district will be located at the Purdue University Airport, Lafayette Aviation and the Maurice J. Zucrow Laboratories.

As part of the new plan, Lafayette Aviation will be renamed Purdue Aviation.

Earlier this month, the Department of Aviation Technology announced a partnership with Republic Airways to launch a program that places Purdue students with Republic’s career track.
