Search and rescue vehicle taken from west side hotel

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – IMPD is investigating the theft of a trailer and a customized utility vehicle that were stolen from a west side hotel.

Officials say the UTV was customized to be used as a search and rescue vehicle. The owner of the vehicle brought it to Indianapolis for the Firefighters Convention.

Detectives say the theft happened at the Wyndham Hotel at 2455 Executive Drive, some time between midnight and 8 a.m. Monday.

Police are looking for a 2014 aluminum flatbed trailer with a Georgia license plate, with a customized 2014 Red / Black Honda Pioneer 4 seater UTV on it.

A locker container holding several pieces of survival and rescue equipment was also taken in the theft.

Police have no suspects in the crime.
