First electric car share stations to be built in Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Construction is set to start on the first 12 of up to 200 BlueIndy electric car share stations in Indianapolis. BlueIndy plans to hire up to 50 local employees by the end of 2015.

The City of Indianapolis, Bolloré Group and Indianapolis Power & Light Company made the announcement Tuesday.

A full grand opening for the BlueIndy service is anticipated to take place this summer.

The following are the first 12 station sites:

  • 107 W. Washington St.
  • 49 N. Capitol Ave.
  • 103 E. Ohio St.
  • 11 N. Delaware St.
  • 1107 E. Morris St.
  • 27 S. Audubon Road
  • 3996 Shelby St.
  • 731 Broad Ripple Ave.
  • 121 N. Delaware St.
  • 228 W. Maryland St.
  • 476 N. New Jersey St.
  • 333 University Blvd.
