2012 Indiana tornado focus of Weather Channel documentary

HENRYVILLE, Ind. (AP) – A tornado that devastated a southern Indiana community in 2012 will be the focus of a documentary airing on The Weather Channel.

The “Real Time Henryville” episode of the channel’s “Tornado Alley” series will be broadcast Monday at 9 p.m. and again at 10 p.m. on May 11.

The Courier-Journal of Louisville, Kentucky, reports the documentary will include the story of Clark County residents Wayne and Lenora Hunter. They were filming out a front window of their home as an EF-4 tornado with estimated winds of 170 mph approached in the distance on March 2, 2012.

The tornado obliterated their house and hurled the Hunters into nearby fields. Wayne Hunter died, but his wife survived.
