Boating accident claims one life

MONROE COUNTY,Ind. (WISH) – One man was killed after a boat capsized on Lake Lemon in Monroe County.

During a  fishing outing early Friday afternoon a boat carrying three men capsized.  All three were thrown into the water.

One of the men immediately began having difficulty breathing after landing in the water due to a medical condition.

The man, who was unresponsive at the time,  was quickly brought to shore by boaters in the area.  CPR was immediately administered.

John Scharbrough,65, was taken to IU Health Bloomington in critical condition.

He was later pronounced dead at the hospital several hours later after doctors were unable to revive him.
