Fishers, Purdue partner for success

FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) — Fishers will be home to two Purdue University programs starting in August.

The Purdue University College of Pharmacy’s Center for Medication Safety Advancement (CMSA) and Purdue Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) plan to move into the second floor of The Switch located on Municipal Drive.

Purdue’s move will help transform the Nickel Plate District to focus on innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Switch is part of a $28 million project that will house office space, a parking garage, and apartments. The project is part of a three part property development that includes, The Depot which will be a luxury apartment complex connected to a 17,000 square foot space that the owners plan to rent out and The Edge a project that will house a medical office, retail store and restaurants.

MEP said they recently received a boost in fundraising and expect the organization will easily double their employment growth over the next two years. According to Purdue, the center helps Indiana’s economic impact by $1.2 billion.

“During our search for a space and community to accommodate our growth, it was apparent the City of Fishers offered an exceptional location that satisfied our field office logistical needs, our desired work life environment, and a cost competitive lease. We are pleased to bring our central office into the Nickel Plate District redevelopment, and look forward to serving our state’s manufacturing base with Fishers as our hub location,” said Dave Snow, Director, Purdue MEP Center in a press release.

CMSA and MEP plan to move in August.
