Make Change Indy
Make Change is a Community Currency program in Indianapolis that rewards people for being green.
If you do something good for the environment…we want to reward you for that…tell us how you did it and we will mail you the currency that you can go spend.” McKenzie Beverage, Butler University Sustainability Coordinator
How to get The Rewards!
1 hour of a qualifiable activity is $10, 15 minutes is $2.50 (examples include enrolling in IPL Green Power Option, installing a rain barrel, and biking to work)
Take a before/after photo and fill out a form to receive your Community Currency
Participants can also volunteer with People for Urban Progress and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful at select events and receive currency on site.
Spend your currency at a participating business in the Near Eastside, Fountain Square, or Midtown. Currency expires 11/1/15 at FS and NES businesses.
Businesses supporting Make Change Indy include Rocket 88 Doughnuts, Pogue’s Run Grocer, and Agrarian. Make Change has also partnered with Circle City Rain Barrels to offer discounted rain barrel building workshops every third Saturday.
