Gov. Pence rooting on ‘hometown hero’ Carpenter at 500

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) — Indiana Gov. Mike Pence has picked a favorite in this year’s Indy 500.

Pence spoke to 24-Hour News 8 Racing Analyst Derek Daly Sunday morning.

“This is the greatest day of the year for the state of Indiana on the world stage,” he said.

The governor is pulling for Ed Carpenter, who Pence called the “hometown hero.”
