Child, 1 other injured when train hits car on east side
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A child and another person were injured when a train collided with a car on the east side of Indianapolis Saturday afternoon, according to IMPD.
The car was southbound on Rural Street when it was hit by a westbound train just before 12:30 p.m.
The driver and an 8-year-old passenger — the only occupants of the vehicle — were transported to Methodist Hospital with minor injuries.
A fence at a home in the 2000 block of Roosevelt Avenue was damaged in the crash.
