Man dies after Wednesday night shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A Plainfield man is dead following a shooting on Wednesday night.

23-year-old Marcus Williams died just before midnight Wednesday.

Williams was dropped off at Community East Hospital with a gunshot wound to the neck. It has not been made public who dropped Williams off.

Officer believe Williams was shot in the area near 3600 block of North Whittier Place.

Williams was transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital for surgery before succumbing to his injuries.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says the investigation is ongoing.
