Local business helps a local church hit a high note

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — On West 62nd Street, a donation of instruments is music to the ears of a local congregation.

The Jesus Christ is Life church was burglarized twice in a matter of days.

Both times, thousands of dollars in music equipment was stolen.

On Friday, Musicians’ Repair and Sales Store on North Capitol Avenue donated some new and used equipment to get the church back in harmony.

“Whenever it’s Indianapolis community and it comes to making music, whether they’re making music in praise or in a local school, it’s very important to us. It’s a company my dad started almost 60 years ago, it’s something that we continue to do, every day,” said Rick Oldham, president of the store said.

Two keyboards, a couple of guitars, three bass guitars, an amplifier and cables were taken from the church.

The pastor’s son, Jose Martin Martinez, is involved in the music ministry and says his church is definitely feeling the love of the community through this donation.

Guitar Center in the 8400 block of Castleton Corner Drive also donated two keyboards.
