Carroll Co. authorities suspend search in Deer Creek for possible body

CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Searchers in Carroll County have temporarily suspended their search for a possible body along the Deer Creek.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 8:30 a.m. Thursday about a body floating down the Deer Creek, near Riley Park in Delphi. Deputies said the caller reported seeing a body with shoulder length black hair floating face down in the creek.

Officers with the Department of Natural Resources concentrated their search at a train trestle, between the Hamilton Street Bridge and Old State Road 25, where there is a build up of tree limbs and debris under the trestle.

Deputies said no one has been reported missing in this area. They have contacted surrounding counties and say no one has been reported missing in those areas.

If nothing turns up, the search could move to the Wabash River.
