Future tech on the horizon: Lexus presents hoverboard

NEW YORK, N.Y. (WIVB)- Could future technology be ahead of Americans now? A brand new tease from Lexus suggests they’ve already developed viable hoverboard technology.

The hoverboard, which was first teased on Tuesday, is seen to be a stable product which could be available to consumers soon. Dubbed the Lexus SLIDE, the project is part of a series the company is releasing to highlight the company’s innovation and creativity.

Lexus is teasing consumers, releasing a short, 37-second video which only shows 16-seconds of the product. In the video, a rider steps on the hoverboard just before video cuts away, and it doesn’t appear to flinch from the rider’s weight.

The stationary board emits a hazy smoke, adding to the intrigue of how the product is powered. Lexus promises updates on the project in the weeks ahead.
