Avon woman wins car in church raffle

PLAINFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — One lucky woman is driving around in a brand new set of wheels tonight.

Courtney Rice of Avon received the keys to a 2015 Chevy Cruze.

The car was donated by Andy Mohr Automotive and was the grand prize in the St. Susanna Parish church raffle.

Rice, who has been going to the parish for two years, bought her tickets the day of the big drawing.

She was more than shocked after she was notified of her prize.

“When we got that call, we were overwhelmed. We couldn’t believe it,” said Rice. “You don’t win a car everyday. And so who couldn’t use a new car?

Almost 1,400 raffle tickets in total were sold, raising $62,000 for the parish.
