Police searching for car connected to string of vehicle break-ins

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Police in Johnson County are searching for the driver of a vehicle after credit cards stolen during a string of vehicle break-ins were used at a gas station.

Several vehicle break-ins in the last few days of June involved broken passenger side windows and the targeting of brand-name handbags. The break-ins usually took place during the night.

Police are warning people that the thieves are known to case vehicles by looking through windows before breaking in.

The vehicle seen in photos distributed by police is associated with use of a credit card stolen from one of the purses taken during a break-in.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office investigations division at 317-346-4615.
