Roy Hibbert traded to the Lakers

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Roy Hibbert is headed to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Pacers traded its former all-star big man for what is reportedly a combination of draft picks and overseas player rights to Los Angeles.

It won’t become official until the NBA’s trade moratorium ends July 9. Hibbert spent the last seven seasons with Indiana manning the middle, but after a few excellent seasons the 7-foot 2-inch center struggled, especially in the playoffs.

He averaged about 11 points and seven rebounds a game last year, and team president Larry Bird said Hibbert would have to earn his minutes as the team switched to a more up-tempo style.
