Family, friends hold vigil for hit-and-run victim Gary McClain

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Family and friends of a hit-and-run victim gathered for a vigil in hopes of finding answers in the unsolved case.

The accident happened January 11 on Pershing Avenue, close to 7th street.

Gary McClain was unconscious when medics rushed him to a hospital.

The 57-year-old died from his injuries the next morning.

People gathered Sunday in the 500 block of Pershing Avenue at 7 p.m., not far from the crash site.

Back in January, police said McCalin was likely hit by a red, maroon or burgundy Chevrolet Malibu with a model year between 2004 and 2007.
