Authorities: Body found in vacant Gary school is victim of homicide
GARY, Ind. (AP) – Authorities say a woman whose body was found in a vacant Gary school is the victim of a homicide.
The Lake County coroner’s office said in a news release that it was dispatched around 8 p.m. Tuesday to the former Emerson school. Gary police say the woman was found dead and lying face down, with minor trauma to her body.
The (Munster) Times reports the woman’s death is being considered a homicide. Gary police said an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning.
The woman’s death is under further investigation.
