Brown County tourism officials debut smartphone app

NASHVILLE, Ind. (AP) – Tourism officials in southern Indiana’s Brown County have released a free smartphone app to help guide visitors to the county’s quaint shops, restaurants and attractions.

The Brown County Convention and Visitors Bureau says its Discover Brown County app will help visitors find lodging and quickly make reservations.

It will also help guide tourists to parking, restrooms and attractions across the county’s rolling hills and in the town of Nashville. That county seat about 50 miles south of Indianapolis is a rustic tourist town where visitors flock each fall to see the colorful foliage of nearby Brown County State Park.

Visitors Bureau spokeswoman Brooke Weichselfelder says the app can be downloaded through the App Store or on Google Play and is “like having a personal tour guide right in your pocket.”
