Noblesville unveils new workforce program

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – Noblesville leaders hope a new program will help residents not only land good job, but keep them as well.

Called “Noblesville Works”, the program will develop what are known as “soft skills.”

The soft skills go beyond technical abilities and focus on strong ethics, good communication and the commitment to work.

The Noblesville Workforce Development Council began planning this program back in 2012.

“It’s one thing to hear from your teacher or administrator that these things are important, but to see business leaders and to see the mayor say these things are important, just give real meaning to it.”

Under the program organizers will teach participants a different skill every month.

They will then work with parents and employers to help use those lessons in everyday life.
