CW developing TV series based on novel ‘The Notebook’

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Nicholas Sparks’ beloved novel “The Notebook” could become a TV series on the CW.

According to reports, the CW plans to make a series based on the book and movie.

Sparks’ released “The Notebook” novel in 1996. It was adapted to film in 2004 and stared Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams.

Entertainment Weekly first reported the news, and then CW president Mark Pedowitz confirmed it at the Television Critics Association’s press tour. He also revealed Sparks will be the executive producer for the project.

If the show gets the green light it will follow the romantic journey of Noah and Allie in the post-World War II era in North Carolina. However, CW said they will most likely not see the older couple.

The pilot for the show is still in the development stages. No word on who will play Allie and Noah.
