Johnson County police searching for possible ‘serial flasher’

GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — A “serial flasher” could be at work in Johnson County, according to police officials.

Police say there have been at least five reports of a subject in a truck exposing himself to women.

According to 24-Hour News 8’s partners at the Daily Journal, on Sunday a woman told police that she was followed by a man in a white truck with a camper shell while she was riding her bike near State Road 37 and County Line Road. The woman said the vehicle followed her to her neighborhood where he exposed himself.

It was not clear if the other reports are related. However, this is the fifth report that involved a pickup truck.

The woman gave police a description of the man and said he was bald and in his mid-30s.

Police say the description matched a similar incident in Franklin on Thursday.

During that incident a woman was backing out of her parking spot in a Franklin apartment complex when she saw a man standing by his truck with his pants around his ankles, according to police.

Several other similar incidents have been reported over the summer.

Two sightings were reported in June in Franklin. On Sunday there were two reports in Greenwood. Both of the incidents in Greenwood involved a man who was driving a truck and exposing himself to women, police say.

There was no clear description of the truck. Some described it as Doge others say it may have been a Chevrolet or a GMC.

Police are asking anyone who witnesses the man to take note of the vehicle and write down a licence plate number.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department at 317-736-9155.
