Former NFL player Colvin given award for youth mentoring

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – The Indiana Sports Corp. will present former NFL player and Indianapolis native Rosevelt Colvin the 2015 Rev. Charles Williams Award for Service to Youth.

Colvin is being recognized for his work coaching youth in basketball and football, as well as his mentoring of football players preparing for the NFL combine and draft.

The award will be given to Colvin during a Sept. 10 Sports Corp. awards dinner.

Colvin, a graduate of Purdue University and Indianapolis Broad Ripple High School, began his National Football League career with the Chicago Bears in 1999. Later he won two Super Bowls with the New England Patriots.
