Car crashes into house, driver seriously injured in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) One person was seriously injured after driving into the side of a house early Monday morning.

According to 24-Hour News 8 sister station, WANE, police were called to a home in the 1100 block of Lower Huntington Road, near the intersection with Airport Expressway, just after midnight.

A red Mustang heading south Lower Huntington Rd. went off the street and stopped when it made contact with a corner of the house in Fort Wayne.

The driver was taken to the hospital in serious condition. There were people inside of the home at the time, but were not injured.

There was a small amount of damage to the house.

No word on why the driver went off the road.

There are road construction barrels set up around the area.

This is the second time a car hit a house in 5 hours. The other incident happened on John Street in Fort Wayne.
