Ball State football player arrested for leaving scene of accident
MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) – A Ball State wide receiver will not be playing Western Michigan on Thursday night, after he was arrested for a hit-and-run.
19-year-old Corey Lacanaria faces charges of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident. Muncie Police arrested him early Sunday.
Police say they found the back bumper of his Mustang and his license plate at the scene of the collision. The other driver was not injured.
Ball state Head coach Pete Lembo says Lacanaria has been suspended for at least one game.
“We are aware of Corey’s arrest and certainly do not take these types of situations lightly,” said Lembo.
