Rain continues to fall across central Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Heavy rain has fallen across portions of central Indiana. Areas from Indianapolis to the northwest have already picked up two inches of rain, with still heavy rain falling this morning.

A few flood warnings are in effect for counties west and northwest of Indianapolis through late morning and early afternoon because of the heavy rain.

A flash flood watch remains in effect for all of central Indiana until Monday evening.

Expect heavy rain to continue through this morning, but should ease a bit into the afternoon as the boundary slides a bit to the south. We will still see on and off showers through much of the day, but the intensity and duration should be much later for the second half of our Sunday. An additional 0.25″ – 0.50″ can be expected through today.

Temperatures will fall throughout the day, starting out in the mid 50s, and dropping to the lower 40s by this afternoon.

Another round of potentially heavy rain will return Monday.
