Indianapolis hospitals welcome New Year’s babies

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Some local families definitely had reason to celebrate as 2016 rang in.

Two Indianapolis hospitals announced the births of their New Year’s babies early Friday morning.

Saint Francis Hospital says little “Ava” was the hospital’s first baby born in the New Year. She arrived at 12:40 a.m. Her parents are Amanda and Mike Bentley from Greenwood. The hospital says Amanda works for the hospital as a nurse.

Community Hospital North announced the birth of “Ella” Friday morning. She was born at 3:25 a.m. Her parents are Nam and Sarah Hoa of Fishers.

IU Health Methodist Hospital welcomed their first 2016 baby at 2:51 a.m. “Corea La’jhai” was born to Indianapolis’s Samantha Boling. The baby girl weighed 8 pounds and 9 ounces and measured 20.5 inches in length. To celebrate baby Corea’s arrival, Samantha will be presented with a Baby New Year “Welcome Basket.”
