Police: Sword-wielding resident fights off burglar with shovel
BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — A sword-wielding resident fought off a burglar using a shovel to force her way into a home Sunday afternoon, Columbus police told 24-Hour News 8 partner The Republic.
Audrey C. Davis, 18, faces a preliminary charge of felony residential entry, The Republic reports.
Witnesses told police she used a shovel to push her way into a home in the 1000 block of 9th Street around 1 p.m.
After Davis refused to leave, someone inside the home grabbed a sword and forced her out, witnesses told police, according to The Republic.
Davis is being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
