2 troopers hurt in I-69 crash near Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) – State police say two troopers were hurt when a semitrailer struck their stopped squad car from behind on Interstate 69 near Evansville.

Sgt. Todd Ringle says the troopers suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash about 9 a.m. Wednesday but didn’t immediately give details.

Ringle says the troopers were inside their car diverting traffic from a previous crash when the semi ran into the back of the cruiser, turned onto its side and hit another car. The semi’s load of grain was spilled across the southbound lanes of the highway about 10 miles north of Evansville.

Ringle says the drivers of the other vehicles weren’t injured.
