American Senior Communities introduces a new program called Caring Treasures

Learning your loved one has dementia is often a tough realization to process. The staff with American Senior Communities is hoping to continue to improve their assessment and care of residents, who depend on them to make sense of their ever-changing reality. Because of this, they’re created a program called Caring Treasures.

Staff members say, on average, 75-80% of their Residents, in any given community, are living with a diagnosis of dementia. Caring Treasures has given their therapy staff the resources to determine the stage in which a resident is living within the disease. This process allows them to implement the most appropriate management strategies, meaningful and familiar activities, communication strategies, realistic expectations, and safety measures in terms of activities of daily living and mobility.

Rehab consultant Stephanie Head shares even more about the program and how it can help your loved one adapt to their new world.
