Indianapolis murder suspect arrested in Wisconsin
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department announced an out-of-state arrest on Monday for a murder that happened last year.
According to IMPD, 20-year-old murder Cordero Pinex was arrested in Wisconsin on a warrant charging him with murder and carrying a handgun without a license. He was brought back to Indianapolis and booked into the Arrestee Processing Center to face charges last Tuesday.
Police say Pinex shot and killed 30-year-old Joshua Neloms in June 2015, at the Rodeway Inn in the 3500 block of North Shadeland Avenue. IMPD released images of the suspects afterward.
Detectives obtained a warrant in 2015, but Pinex evaded arrest until he was caught in Wisconsin this month.
It’s unclear when he’ll first appear in court.
