Indy holds vigil to honor Fort Wayne murder victims

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A candlelight vigil lit up monument circle Friday night, honoring the victims of a triple homicide in Fort Wayne.

Last week, three men, all from east African families, were murdered “execution style” in a home in Fort Wayne.

The suspects haven’t been caught.

Friday night, college students from Indianapolis gathered to mourn the deaths and try to raise awareness about the crime.

The organizers feel this story hasn’t received much attention and believe the color of the victim’s skin is the reason why.

“Even here in Indy it still touches me. I have friends of friends that are very close to them, family members, so it’s central to Indy, it’s central to Fort Wayne, Gary, wherever in Indiana that you’re going,” said IUPUI student, Christian Page.

Police are still trying to figure out a motive but say this was not a hate crime.
