Woman overdoses on heroin, arrested for neglect

COLUMBUS,Ind. (WISH) – After a Columbus woman overdosed on heroin, she was arrested for neglect.

According to the Columbus Police Department, officers responded to a house in the 900 block of McClure Road in Columbus due to a call of an unresponsive person in a vehicle.

After arriving on scene, officers found a 25-year-old Christina Wilson in the driver’s seat of a vehicle slumped over the steering wheel.

Officers concluded quickly that the woman was overdosing on heroin.  It was at that time Narcan was administered and after a few minute the woman woke up. Wilson was then taken to Columbus Regional Hospital.

While overdosing, all three of Wilson’s children, all under five years of age, were in the back seat at the time.

After the hospital visit, Wilson was then arrested.  She faces three preliminary charges of neglect on a dependent.

The children have been placed in the care of a relative.
