Butler mascot makes trip despite missing games
RALEIGH, N.C. (WISH) — Butler mascot Tripp, or Butler Blue III, made the drive to Raleigh for the NCAA Tournament, but as per long-standing NCAA rules that bar live mascots from game sites, was not allowed in the arena.
He was on-hand for a VIP get-together at the team hotel on Wednesday, and was present for pets and pictures at the alumni pep rally just outside the arena.
The NCAA did welcome the Butler Bulldog to both Final Fours in 2010 and 2011.
