INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A convict mistakenly released has surrendered to police.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Levi Garrett is back in police custody after surrendering Thursday evening around 10 p.m.

Police said Garrett was taken back into custody downtown after an investigation by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Gangs and Intelligence Unit and Warrant Teams with help from the United State Marshals Task Force.

Also, 18-year-old Nathaniel Tharp and 20-year-old Brent Walker were taken into custody. Both face a number of preliminary charges including possession of marijuana, dealing in marijuana and possession of a controlled substance among others.

On Monday Garrett was released after being sentenced to 12 years on March 9 after agreeing to a plea agreement for dealing meth and carrying a handgun with a prior felony conviction.
