Serial robber gets 58 years for two-day crime spree in 2015

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Four armed robberies in 2015 has earned a man a 58 year sentence.

Timothy Weakley was convicted and sentenced in Marion County on Friday. Four felony counts of armed robbery and a habitual offender enhancement will put Weakley in the Indiana Department of Correction for nearly 60 years.

Weakley, armed with a handgun, robbed four businesses within 24 hours on Jan. 25 and Jan. 26 in 2015. The businesses were in the vicinity of 38th Street between Illinois Street and College Avenue.

Prosecutors said eye witnesses were key in the case.

“Detailed witness descriptions provided to investigators on the scene facilitated Weakley’s arrest,” Prosecutor Terry Curry said. “Their cooperation took a potentially armed criminal off the street and into jail within hours.”
