Man wanted in connection to Kokomo bank robbery

KOKOMO, Ind. (WLFI/WISH) – Police in Kokomo are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Tuesday afternoon.

Indiana State Police said the robbery happened Tuesday around 1:50 p.m. at Key Bank on East Hoffer Street.

Investigators have released few details about the robbery, but they have released a photo of the suspect.

The suspect is 5 feet 11 inches tall and fled on foot in an unknown direction. He displayed a handgun and demanded money from a bank teller, police say. He got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Recently, a person tried to rob the First Farmers Bank in Russiaville Monday, March 21. Police said the subject got away.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, red t-shirt, blue jeans and light-colored shoes.

Authorities in Carroll County have teamed up with Howard County officials thinking there may be a possible connection between a streak of bank robberies in Flora and Kokomo. The Salin Bank in Flora was robbed twice during the month of February. But on Jan. 11, BMO Harris Bank and Security Federal Savings Bank were both robbed in Kokomo within six hours of each other.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 800-382-0689 or the Kokomo Police Department at 765-456-7100.
