Man gets 65 years for 2015 murder in Greenwood

GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — An Indianapolis man has been sentenced to 65 years in prison for a 2015 murder.

Marcus Hardy was sentenced Thursday for the murder of Bargersville resident Douglas Lane.

Investigators said Hardy intended to rob Lane and two other people during a drug deal. Lane was found dead in an apartment. Hardy was found at a shopping mall days in Merrillville days later and arrested by U.S. Marshals.

Hardy was found guilty in March.

Hardy’s sentence for murder and armed robbery will be served consecutively with previous convictions in Lake and Hamilton counties.
