Possible human remains found in Shelby County

SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — The Shelby County Sheriff Department is investigating after a report of possible human remains.

The possible remains were found in a field in the northwest part of the county on Sunday around 6 p.m., a sheriff department spokesman said. That’s at the intersection of county roads 325 West and 650 North, not far from the town of Fairland.

Police say someone reported finding the remains in the field.

According to the sheriff’s office, they wrapped up their investigation. They couldn’t release any additional details, but they said they were “pretty sure” the remains they found belong to a human.
