Man found not guilty of threatening Beech Grove mayor

BEECH GROVE, Ind. (WISH) – A local business owner who was accused of threatening the Beech Grove Mayor has been found not guilty.

Richard Byland was found not guilty of intimidation on Monday.

On October 10, 2014 Byland left a message at city hall, according to court documents. Byland said he was upset over inspections that were done on his business on Main Street.

According to Mayor Buckley this was not the first time Byland made a complaint to the mayor’s office.

Byland later told detectives that he was just trying to get his point across and understood he didn’t handle the matter correctly, court documents state.
