Auction to help keep St. Michael’s Episcopal Church’s music going

NOBLESVILLE, Ind (WISH) – A church is using an auction to help bring new music to its building.

St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Noblesville is looking to raise money to buy a new organ.

The church’s current one is 40 years old. Music director Steven Murphy says they’ve got a gently used one in mind.

It’ll cost $10,000 in order to get it. Murphy says the new instrument will allow them to do so much more.

“A number of wonderful things,” Murphy said. “We’ll be able to play pieces that are appropriate for an organ that’s classical, one that’s up to date, so to speak, and one that works well.”

The event starts Saturday at 4 p.m., with the auction taking place at 6 p.m.
