IMPD: Shooting victim walks to nearby business for help

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The violence in Indianapolis continued into Monday afternoon, as police responded to a shooting on the city’s northeast side.

The shooting happened in the 2300 block of East 34th Street around 12:30 p.m., according to Indianapolis Police Department officers.

Police say a victim walked to the nearby business in the area looking for help after he was shot. The male who is in his 20s was shot just east of Keystone Avenue.

It’s not clear what lead up to the shooting, but police don’t believe this is a random act.

The victim was taken from the scene in serious condition and later down graded to critical condition.
