One shot and killed early Saturday morning

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person was shot and killed early Saturday morning.

The fatal shooting that left a 20-year-old man dead happened at the Lexington Apartments at East 39th Place and North Post Road just before 1 a.m.

According to police, the 20-year-old victim and a person of interest were the only two people in the area when shots were fired.

Police said by the time officers arrived on scene, the man was already dead.

The victim and the person police are calling a person of interest are thought to have known one another.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has not release information about the person of interest or the victim.

The deadly incident is still under investigation.
